Starcodes for the week of May 8-14, 2026

Mother’s Day weekend is the heart of the earthy Taurus season, the word for matter and material come from mother. Mother’s Day offers an opportunity for healing and deepening family roots, but it does not work for everyone. This earth is our first mother, one we can reach towards when ours is gone, toxic, or unavailable. Our first mother needs love, now and always.

This whole week the Sun and Mercury – now in Taurus – infuse stability, strength, add earthiness, slow our pacing a bit but add stubbornness. We can channel Ferdinand the Bull who stands in his field full of flowers and doesn’t want to fight but certainly will if stung by a bee or by a nasty person. Mars, Saturn, and Neptune in Aries add fire and determination, keep the pots simmering on personal goals and international conflagrations. Uranus and Venus in Gemini can bring springtime flirtations and a cross-pollination of flowers and ideas, but sometimes our brains can feel like dandelion fluff blowing in the wind. We may need to be reminded of our obligations.

The weekend starts under a sociable Aquarius Moon which highlights our responsibilities to the group, a good time time for gathering with families or allies, connecting around a cause, relative, or idea. The Moon slides into sensitive Pisces on Sunday, bringing tears and laughter closer to the surface just in time for Mother’s Day. Honor all the feelings but don’t hold on to them – let them flow.

Give people time to resonate with emotional processing early in the week under that Moon in Pisces, it’s a fairly personal time where we may need to admit our vulnerabilities – at least to ourselves. Don’t get too lost in the inner world because we’ll need to get back into action midweek as the Moon heads into assertive Aries, conjuncts fierce Mars. People want to see progress now, become impatient that this wasn’t done yesterday. Don’t take their impatience personally, just kick into gear.

Friday, May 8: On this productive if serious day, let’s consider what our responsibilities are to the body politic and to our community as the Moon enters Aquarius, trines Neptune, and conjuncts Pluto. Ponder our archetypal obligation to help one another, to grow our own soul for the sake of all sentient beings. Use a sadness or challenge midday as an excuse for doing a good deed, sharing a smile in a moment of discouragement. Weigh how easy it is to be cynical or depressed instead of really engaged in compassionate action. Turn everything into collaborative action, even a walk down the street.

Moon enters Aquarius 1:27 AM MDT, Moon trines Uranus 2:49 AM, Moon sextile Neptune 8:22 AM, Moon conjunct Pluto 12:21 PM, Moon sextile Saturn 9:16 PM.

Saturday, May 9: This time is sociable but oddly formal- rather than emotionally intimate. Play it for the group dynamics, notice what traditions and protocol need to be respected and honored, and can actually ease the way. Find a good place to work with great wild new ideas that seep in around the edges but notice they probably don’t belong in the center today. Feel more warmth mid-afternoon as the Moon trines Venus, though interactions can feel a little out of sync; if so, instead of getting self-conscious, focus on some shared experience. It’s a good day for basic future planning, just keep attachment to those plans loose.

Moon square Mercury 2:07 AM MDT, Moon trine Venus 2:39 PM, Moon square Sun 3:10 PM, Moon sextile Mars 11:08 PM.

Sunday, May 10: Tears and laughter can be close to the surface on this heartfelt day as the Moon enters Pisces and squares Uranus. Take this opportunity to see family dynamics from a different angle. Revisit things that stir the heart, whether sweet remembrance or a deep regret that things could have been otherwise, but let it flow, compost, and so nurture the future. Liberate old patterns as the Sun sextiles Jupiter, free up energy into compassion or move on.

Moon enters Pisces 11:39 AM MDT, Moon square Uranus 1:12 PM, Sun sextile Jupiter 8:13 PM.

Monday, May 11: We could feel an emotional hangover from yesterday and need a day to recover, so don’t expect people to not hit the ground running. Let’s catch up, remember where we left off, but give room to process feelings and arrive here and now. Let thoughts wander, our wandering moments can create interesting connections and new understandings about the turning of the wheel of life. Tonight, begin to prepare for the next chapter as the Moon sextiles Mars.

Moon sextile Mars 9:42 PM MDT.

Tuesday, May 12: The mood is sociable but with all the feels this morning; we can bond over strangely awkward moments. Let go of personal self-consciousness by supporting someone else through their decision-making process as the Pisces Moon squares Venus. Conversation will be more important than the outcome, strengthen those lines of communication. Juggle the many different bits and pieces, staying on target will be a challenge but worth the effort. Make that checklist. People move into more active orientation and grow sharper edges tonight as the Moon enters Aries and Mercury sextiles Jupiter. We may get good news, feel less trapped, or reach a freeing decision.

Moon trine Jupiter 1:29 AM MDT, Moon sextile Sun 3:22 AM, Moon square Venus 4:03 AM, Moon enters Aries 6:03 PM, Moon sextile Uranus 7:43 PM, Mercury sextile Jupiter 10:43 PM.

Wednesday, May 13: This morning could feel fuzzy headed, impatient but unclear, as the Aries Moon conjuncts Neptune overnight and the back of our brain works overtime. Wake up and get oriented consciously and carefully, we’ve got a lot to do as the Aries Moon sextiles Pluto and conjuncts Saturn; the timing can be tight. Don’t put too many pots on the burner, it’s easy to start, walk away, forget, and drop a ball. Prioritize a few items and see them through. Watch people try and distract with aggravating emotions and comments, it may make them feel better, but once we react, we lose our paradigm and momentum. Stay on target.

Moon conjunct Neptune 12:20 AM MDT, Moon sextile Pluto 3:34 AM, Moon conjunct Saturn 12:09 PM.

Thursday, May 14: The Sun, Mercury, and asteroid Ceres conjunct, we could have little objectivity but can grow a deeper understanding. Before acting, ponder whether this action will further or is just a triggered response. The Aries Moon conjuncts Mars this afternoon, sharpening tempers, strengthens impulse, and encourages us to jump before we really see what we’re jumping into. Notice those impulses and become more aware of personal triggers, what’s comfortable, what’s uncomfortable, what nurtures, what angers. Stay proactive and let life be a liberating experience. Moods and events could calm down but stay thoughtful tonight as the waning Moon enters grounding Taurus and approaches a bouquet of aspects overnight.

Moon square Jupiter 5:40 AM, Sun conjunct Mercury 8:24 AM, Moon sextile Venus 12:06 PM, Mercury conjunct Ceres 12:16 PM, Moon conjunct Mars 3:32 PM, Moon enters Taurus 8:30 PM.
