Starcodes for the week of October 2-8, 2026
Big issues growl under beautiful fall weather this week as two major aspects challenge and balance out one another. A potential-filled, lingering grand trine between the Sun, Pluto, and Uranus infuses change, hope, and transformation, our world is in metamorphosis this year this trine helps us adapt to the changes.
As counterpoint, this week brings adrenaline rushes with a truly challenging T-square potentially triggering storms, conflict, machismo, accidents, or mechanical problems to a boil but also give us the momentum to heroically take on a real challenge as Mars in Leo opposes powerful Pluto and they both square Mercury in Scorpio. The debate will deepen around the role of toxic masculinity versus the healthy Mars within us all. We need to be kind to ourselves and one another as these aspects can stir up old painful memories and we need to feel the strength of one another, of those working to improve this world, to heal them.
Through the weekend be extra mindful to avoid transportation accidents or simmering arguments and take weather warnings seriously. Watch the headlines for major explosive political logjams where people feel ignored unseen or under pressure. Bring that ingenious adaptability from the grand trine to bear, and assess carefully , when to adapt and when to make it better. The serenity meditation can help us find balance in the storms, “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Venus retrogrades this Saturday through November 13 and can bring up unfinished business of the heart, snag mediations, and ask us to go back to creative projects which we left dangling. If ex’s and issues from the past show up, it is probably not time to re-engage with them, but to truly assess if anybody has actually changed.
We’ll probably be on the other side of this emotionally and environmentally stormy weekend by Tuesday when the Moon heads into Virgo, though it may be hard to stick to our work after dealing with big issues over the weekend. Healing will be in the ordinary, the everyday, the tasks that need to be done to weave health into a better world.

Friday, October 2: Mercury forms a tough square to both Pluto and Mars; say less and think longer. We may have a good reason for righteous anger but could start a war in the name of self-protection as the Moon enters sensitive Cancer; it may be more productive to hold firm lines and offer compassion and support through a tough situation instead, or as well. Take on challenges consciously and thoughtfully. Listen for news about difficult accidents or acts of violence, inspiring acts of bravery or brilliant mechanical solutions. Watch for water damage in strange places as Mars trines Neptune. Tonight, nurture with good food, comfort, and familiarity.
Mercury square Mars 3:14 AM MDT, Moon enters cancer 1:53 PM, Mercury squares Pluto 2:42 PM, Mars trine Neptune 4:17 PM, Moon square Neptune 6:38 PM, Moon trine Mercury 7:35 PM.
Saturday, October 3: Today may be all over the place emotionally; flail less, hold still when needed and find center. We could all use reassurance and support while Venus turns retrograde under an emotional Cancer Moon, all while Mars opposes Pluto. Some hidden wrongs become visible. We may be called upon to do the right thing in a tough situation. Distrust sudden reactive impulses or bursts of anger, acknowledge feelings but let the dust settle before acting. Step away from belligerent people, avoid ladders and hunting. If an argument starts, particularly around an old emotional issue, hear them out but don’t try to solve the problem or argue the point now. Think about it first. Familiar, stabilizing, routines, like autumnal apple picking, could be great medicine.
Venus retrogrades 1:15 AM MDT, Moon trine Venus 4:15 AM, Mars oppose Pluto 4:38 AM, Moon square 7:24 AM, Moon square Saturn 9:08 AM.
Sunday, October 4: We can feel old this morning as the Sun opposes Saturn and asks us to take things seriously and be competent. Saturn reminds us of the dire states of this world and work that needs doing. Let’s both question how people use their authority and make sure that we’re on track with our own backbone. Our control issues could simmer up, but it won’t help trying and control others. Take care of the bones, appreciate the strength given by time and experience, but work on flexibility. The Moon enters Leo this afternoon and the mood lightens up, we can share appreciation and laughter early in the evening, watch for mood swings late tonight as heart concerns need a moment while the Moon opposes Pluto.
Sun opposed Saturn 6:28 AM MDT, Moon enters Leo 4:53 pm, Moon trine Neptune 9:36 PM, Moon opposed Pluto 10:25 PM.
Monday, October 5: If overnight crankiness leaves us in a Mars-mood this morning, either ticked off, ambitious, or anxious, let’s work it out rather than take it out on others. Don’t believe an illusion that nothing can be done, find one thing to improve the situation and the flow begins. Give attention to the best of Mars traits – strength, leadership, protection, entrepreneurship, exploration, and accountability. Afternoon, we can be productive wherever we feel appreciated; catch people doing something right as the Moon in Leo trines Saturn and sextiles the Sun.
Moon conjunct Mars at 12:01 AM MDT, Moon sextile Uranus 2:15 AM, Moon square Mercury 3:43 AM, Moon square Venus 7:19 AM, Moon trine Saturn 12:10 PM, Moon sextile Sun 2:37 PM.
Tuesday, October 6: Appreciation and trust are essential as Mercury conjuncts Venus in wary Scorpio. Women’s leadership and perception lean forward. Be respectful of people’s boundaries but let them know you are curious and care. Speak without words, hold the space open from the heart. Every bit of tact and compassion, shown more than said, matters – particularly around dinnertime. Show love through sharing the burdens. Evening can get more organized and persnickety as the Moon heads into Virgo, don’t use details to be difficult, use them to back up great ideas. Consider eating lightly tonight – speak rather than digest worries.
Moon conjunct Jupiter 4:21 AM MDT, Mercury conjunct Venus 6:10 PM, Moon enters Virgo 8:52 PM.
Wednesday, October 7: We’ll get impatient where we feel stuck, but this pressure can create a real opportunity to shift those stuck places as Mars sextiles Uranus this morning. Engage kind and wise conversation midday as the Moon sextiles Venus and Mercury, though some fools will speak and throw oil on a fire when quiet would better serve. Look for mechanical breakthroughs as stuff becomes unjammed, update tech hardware and websites. Free up some energy by letting go of old anger and turning it into exercise and organization tonight. Bring fresh energy to love and action
Mars sextiles Uranus 4:41 AM MDT, Moon square Uranus 6:21 AM, Moon sextile Venus 11:07 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 12:56 PM.
Thursday, October 8: If our mind isn’t occupied, it will tend to idle in unproductive worry. Keep it busy, use the strange, free-floating energy to follow through on unfinished conversations. Deal with work already on the table and catch up with oneself and others important contacts as a quiet Moon makes no major aspects. Savor wonderful thoughts and find a way to touch into soul tonight.
No major aspects today.
