Starcodes for the week of September 18-24, 2026

These last few days of summer, and first few of fall, day and night reach equilibrium and give us a model to inspire our search for balance between our inner and outer worlds, balance in our ecosystem, and balance between all the peoples of the world.

The balance and equity we seek around the Equinox, when day and night form their fleeting balance, is hard to find in our world these days. Where we find it, let’s celebrate and support. Where it’s so painfully missing will feel like sandpaper on our skin, rough and wrong, which calls us to take action to bring that balance back into play.

The Sun enters egalitarian Libra, and autumn begins on Tuesday at 6:04 PM MDT. For the next week it opposes confusing Neptune and forms a transformative, opportunity – creating grand trine with change – master Uranus and power-broker Pluto.

An ongoing Uranus-Pluto trine, with both planets sextile Neptune in Aries forms a unique aspect, a minor grand trine, which puts our world and our policial map in deep metamorphosis all this year and next. (The same three planets formed a major grand trine right before the American revolution.) When a faster-moving planet taps into that minor trine, as the Sun does this week, Mercury did last week, and Venus the week before, watch the world’s changes heat up and ratchet forward, forced by both opportunity and crisis. Look for news on our changing relationship with fossil fuels – ruled by Neptune – and major chess moves on the world map.

Our more tender personal emotions can run deep and feel guarded or treasured this week with Mars in protective Cancer and Venus in guarded Scorpio. We may not really want to take personal risks but can see how another person’s happiness and health actually improve our own. Mercury now in Libra can help us tactfully negotiate but keeps our minds on serious things as it opposes Saturn. Here it loans us mental durability and concentration, but we may have to work harder at seeing the potential for joy. It is there. Keep looking, it comes in sparks and wild moments, glimmers of potential scattered in the work.

Friday, September 18: Enjoy a positive mood under an outspoken, outdoorsy Sagittarius Moon, but know we still have work to do or, a line to hold, as Mercury opposes durable Saturn. Our minds can latch on to a worry or obsession like a dog with a bone, but we can use this mental fortitude for good; if we don’t like where we’re obsessing, let’s give our brains another bone to chew. We could see some interesting reportage on the consequence of recent history on the food chain and on child welfare as Ceres squares both Mercury and Saturn or need to think through our nutrition and what nurtures and keeps safe our child-within.

Mercury opposed Saturn 4:01 AM MDT, and both square Ceres, Moon squares Sun 2:43 PM, Moon enters Capricorn 1:54 PM

Saturday, September 19: On these last few days of summer let’s review this last season and think about unfinished summer work. Ask if we need one last picnic, to bring our garden in, or taste a fresh homegrown tomato with a bit of basil and olive oil. We’ll feel better if we get things done while savoring the remnants of the season under a serious, industrious Capricorn Moon and while Mercury lingers in its opposition to Saturn. Evening could bring a social climbing or competitive edge just under the friendly waves, but we can find common ground processing shared worldly concerns as the Moon square Saturn.

Moon square Neptune 5:20 AM MDT, Moon sextile Venus 9:27 AM, Moon square Saturn 11:59 PM.

Sunday, September 20: Work gingerly though some misunderstanding or misalignment of priorities early this morning as the Moon squares Mercury. Take extra care of partnership and family relationships, we can get into fights about who’s in charge, who’s leading, and whose work is more important as Mars opposes Juno, when we really all just want more appreciation. Ask directly for what’s needed rather than go about it sideway; with Venus in Scorpio and Mars in Cancer, once our defenses get activated it can be hard to listen and easier just to duel. Complement the other’s efforts sincerely and good things happen.

Moon square Mercury 6:47 AM, Mars opposed Juno 4:13 PM.

Monday, September 21: We’ could still be cranky this morning and defend up easily. Wear helmets but speak honestly as Jupiter trines the asteroid Pallas Athena. Boldly go forward, witness, efficiently organize, but don’t expect people to open their hearts unless they feel really safe. Though our hackles can still prickle easily, the mood and our minds expand this afternoon as the Moon enters collaborative Aquarius and Mercury sextiles Jupiter. Discuss something important. Dinnertime could bring a passing thoughtful sadness, some personal or collective issue or grief, as the Moon conjuncts Pluto. The evening grows more hopeful later on as that Moon trines Uranus.

Moon opposes Mars 3:16 am MDT, Moon trines Sun 8:31 AM, Jupiter trines palace Athena 11:01 AM, Moon enters Aquarius 11:14 AM, Mercury sextiles Jupiter 4:50 PM, Moon textiles Neptune 5:23 PM, Moon conjuncts Pluto 5:34 PM, Moon trine Uranus 10:23 PM, Moon square Venus 11:39 PM.

Tuesday, September 22: Happy Equinox. The Sun enters Libra at 6:04 PM MDT and forms a door-opening grand-trine with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, bisected by a Sun- Neptune opposition, which echoes throughout the week. Where we feel imbalance most uncomfortably will be our call to action in the year ahead. Under this Aquarius Moon it’s a good time to gather with our community, gather with our connections, find like souls and work towards balance in our lives, our world, our ecosystem. Instead of railing against injustice, whether it’s home chores or world finances, use this energy to vision what it would look like if it was in balance and step forward. Every bit furthers.

Moon sextile Saturn 11:16 AM MDT, Sun enters Libra 6:04 PM, Moon opposes Jupiter 10:47 PM.

Wednesday, September 23: Morning is busy. We can see cracks in a wall and light coming through but can’t quite see if that light is salvation or a new fire. Make the most of changing circumstances and keep an eye on changes in the global picture. We have access to our imagination and vision as the Sun opposes Neptune over the next few days but have to add practical momentum rather than get passive in response. Notice daydreams about the best- and worst-case scenarios, take them in as information, but then move through the middle with eyes open. Tonight, as the Moon enters sensitizing Pisces, step back and take care of the soul and the most vulnerable people in one’s life.

Moon trine Mercury 2:18 AM MDT, Moon enters Pisces 9:23 PM.

Thursday, September 24: We might notice our vulnerabilities or remember some old hurt feelings which need care under this sensitive Pisces Moon. Don’t go back and rewound by reinscribing the memories, honor the feelings and then use the clutch-like energy of the grand trine between the Sun, Uranus, and Pluto to inscribe a pattern of what to do differently next time and reset the nervous system. Imagine how we could take care of ourselves in the future. The world is in metamorphosis, keep moving forward.

Moon square Uranus 7:55 AM, Moon trine Venus 10:45 MDT.
