To expand your psychic ability, begin by asking Spirit for confidence in building your psychic abilities. Ask and you shall receive! Here are some other suggestions:
- Read all the psychic development books you can get your hands on.
- Take classes and find a support group. People you feel comfortable practicing on or with can be online or in person.
- Practice, practice, practice — the more you do, the more confident you will become!
- Invest in tools of the trade that can help build up your third eye (psychic receptor), including: a tarot deck (pick out a deck that speaks to you); gemstones — lapis, amethyst and sodalite are wonderful to use; and oils — jasmine and lavender help us connect psychically.
Learn how to recognize and become accustomed to what it feels like to receive psychic information. Believe in yourself and understand that you won’t hit 100 percent on everything. The more you put your ego aside, the better off you will be. The work isn’t about you. You are just a conduit for building another’s faith.
The two most-important aspects of expanding your psychic ability are trusting what you receive and being positive.
When I was very young and first starting out, I found it beneficial to begin each reading by doing something ritualistic. I conditioned my physical body to speak to the etheric. I suggest the same to you. Light a candle that you save just for tapping in, or anoint your third eye with particular oil before you start a reading. I created my 3rd Eye Oil exactly for this purpose.
Begin by doing readings in one particular space or room; this may not be convenient, but set up your space similarly whenever you can. After each reading, make sure to clear yourself of the prior energies, as you don’t want them to bleed over into future readings.
Note that when you start doing readings more publicly, you’ll want to do them all the time. Be careful, as they can zap your energy. Don’t overwhelm yourself. If you’re not 100 percent, you can’t be of service for anyone else. I’ve seen good, seasoned psychics go down with a “psychic hangover,” and I have experienced this myself a few times over the years.
Psychic information comes through all of our senses. Be prepared to sometimes have a vision, whereas other times you may smell or taste something. Signs can come to us in many forms. Be open to all types of information that may come through.
