Starcodes for the week of October 17-23, 2025
This month’s dramatically creative and deeply challenging aspects continue to simmer – our astrological situation is ripe with potential and danger. We can reach for the stars with new hope on one side while our cultural subconscious grows spikes this week, all while our world works through a several-year metamorphosis triggered by the ongoing Pluto-Uranus trine.
Right now, this week is infused with peaceful creative potential a creative, opportunity-opening grand trine between Venus in Libra, Pluto in Aquarius, and Uranus in Gemini, exact as the Israeli hostages were released. Good aspects don’t insist, they offer opportunities, and it’s up to us whether and how we engage with them. We can just enjoy the fall moment with this grand trine, make an overture to a friend, or help history pivot towards Libran fairness, Aquarian collaboration, and Geminian communication. It is auspicious for the long run effect of Saturday’s No Kings – Protect Democracy March, and the more creative we can be, the better we can channel that trine.
We’re going to need every drop of that positivity as, for the counterpoint, Mercury conjuncts Mars in snarky Scorpio this week, perfecting on Monday. This digs deep. Though this is great for mold excavation in a basement, it can stir the pools of unconscious material lurking in the caverns of our collective mind. It sharpens our thoughts and comments-we can bark and bite. Seriously – if dogs start to fight, take each one to a neutral corner and calm until their hackles go down. People also.
Notice both this high note and dangerous note – look for a difference between where we aspire and envision, and how we act or the side-eye we throw, difference between words and action. It’s a good time to stay away from difficult exes and other potentially manipulative or dangerous experiences. Don’t bother calling them on it, as they may not acknowledge it even to themselves. This is our subconscious calling.
Mercury and Mars together in Mars’ own sign can increase accidents – especially when we are emotionally compromised. If upset, hold still. If someone says hurtful things, take a break and de-escalate before proceeding.
Mars conjunct Mercury in Scorpio also brings deep curiosity and a highly surgical aspect, whether it’s cutting federal jobs from and for the people who need it most, or pruning trees and culling our bookshelves. Ask what needs to be trimmed and why do we think so. Look for the motivation behind the surgery.
The weekend begins under a busy Virgo Moon and sharpens our social critique. Feel the call towards Libran justice tomorrow as the Moon enters Libra and Venus opposes Ceres.
On Monday, Mercury perfects its conjunction to Mars, so watch an impulse to cut off or cut out, or walk away, when the situation just needs time to cook. Some people may lash out; do not bait the tiger. Witness one another if things get strange.
Tuesday brings an early morning new Moon in Libra, then the Moon slips into Scorpio and squares Pluto, which can bring great focus, help us dig out mysteries, find the infection and clear it, but can also instigate harsh edges and accidents, so go with safety in mind.
On Wednesday the Sun enters Scorpio, Neptune retrogrades back into Pisces, and our sense of reality can shift. We may need to review where we were last spring or remember an important lesson over the next few months.

Friday, October 17: This could be a critical logistics day. Don’t spare the details but do remember they are only important when they serve a purpose, vision, ongoing relationships, or are service to the whole – under this busy Virgo Moon. Anxiety can be a real issue and cause us to misbehave unless we recognize and care for it. If we feel overwhelmed by too much on our plate, too many mountains to cross, let’s chunk it down and deal with one detail at a time. Tonight, it is healing to tap into the arts or creative purpose. Energy builds towards something that engages our willpower as the Virgo Moon sextiles Mars.

Saturday, October 18: Stay on target as the prickly but competent Virgo Moon opposes Saturn, work towards completing some responsibility and show up for those who need us. We question what really feeds and nurtures us – and our country – as Venus opposes Ceres. We can rest and connect from the heart this evening if we feel our job is well done as the Moon enters Libra, opposes Neptune, and trines Uranus and Pluto.

Sunday, October 19: Take a chance to refill the social wells, to repair relationships as Venus conjuncts the Moon in Libra midday. Encourage a pleasant moment in a difficult week, just hold hands and help make this world feel more beautiful and fair. Give positive feedback and encourage what we want to grow in the people around us. But because emotions run strong later in the day, we can react fiercely to hurt feelings. Be careful tonight in any emotionally volatile situation.
Moon trine Pluto 12:43 AM, Moon conjunct Venus 12:25 PM.
Monday, October 20: Mercury conjuncts Mars this fierce morning. Work at both levels, pay attention to the friendly conscious, and the deep stirrings of the unconscious. Be careful around any drastic decision, because we can shoot ourselves in the foot, cut off the limb we’re sitting on. Help people who have to deal with emergencies. Respond to urgencies with calm grounded, efficiency. Tonight softens, support friendships as we approach the new Moon in Libra.

Tuesday, October 21: This morning’s early new Moon in Libra encourages us to balance our lives and love our beloveds. By breakfast, the Moon enters moody Scorpio and sharpens our mood, deepen concentration. Rhetoric and propaganda could fly around the room, so keep critical thinking skills close at hand. Midday, consequences come due as the Moon squares Pluto. It furthers to have something positive to obsess upon over the next few days.
Moon conjuncts the Sun 6:24 AM, Moon enters Scorpio 9:41 AM, Moon square Pluto 12:28 PM.
Wednesday, October 22: Neptune retrogrades back into Pisces- which can bring us back to some dream we dropped, some vision or spiritual practice we’ve been working on for the last decade. But it can also bring a sense of unreality, the feeling that we’re all drifting through different realities and have no shared truth. Problems stir today that hit a denouement tomorrow. Halloween season begins as the Sun enters Scorpio tonight.
Neptune retrogrades back into Pisces 3:46 AM, Sun enters Scorpio 9:50 PM.
Thursday, October 23: Hang in there. Roll with the punches, face and work through some ongoing problems. Don’t let people jerk our chain; remember what’s important, not just urgent, as the Scorpio Moon conjuncts Mars and Mercury. We’re going places- let’s make sure it’s a good place. Let people play their cards close to the chest now, they’ll open up more easily as the Moon enters Sagittarius late tonight, but may not be tactful in the process.
Moon conjunct Mars 4:54 AM, Moon conjunct Mercury 8:56 AM, Moon trine Jupiter 11:18 AM, Moon trine Saturn 2 38 PM, Jupiter square Chiron 4:19 PM, Moon trine Neptune 10:13 PM, Moon enters Sagittarius 10:18 PM, Moon opposed Uranus 11:26 PM.
