Starcodes for the week of October 9-15, 2026

As we head into the new Moon in peaceful, Venus-ruled Libra, remember the Libran motto: “no justice, no peace- know justice, know peace.” We need this reminder, this tug towards true equilibrium , fairness, and the beauty way as Mars in extravagant Leo lingers in a difficult opposition to Pluto and they both square Venus, now retrograde in Scorpio.

Venus in Scorpio never forgets and now hauls out in the open old loves and retrenched conflicts, ugliness, misogyny, and any other misuse of Mars energy. More Mars explosions, whether at home or between countries, won’t help, nor will ignoring the problems. Short-term solutions won’t work. The Libra New Moon points the way forwards.

With this Mars-Venus-Pluto pattern in fixed signs people can be remarkably stubborn and stuck in their ways, defining themselves by what they oppose, whether a concept, a people, or how one should stack the dishwasher. But with this fixed energy we can also feel the strength of our best habits stabilizing us, our long-term goals calling us, and our trusted allies and friendships enriching our lives. Entrenchment can also work for us, like the roots of a tree.

Like the Cornell cases, old issues that had no accountability or repair made, that bill is now due. Think about what would actually repair and restore. If a wrong has already addressed and repair made and changes accomplished, let it go.

This pattern also asks us to remember the best of our emotional past and use it to fertilize the future. Remember the first sparks of love, of a creative idea, the first glimpse of a new home. Focus on what we want to grow in the future.

Mercury turns retrograde on October 24th, so this week is a good time to catch up with all of our contacts and straighten out paperwork, clear up misunderstandings even if we don’t particularly feel like it. We can feel drawn to obsessive side quests, but there will be time for that with Mercury retrograde in Scorpio October 24-November 15, so use this easily irritated persnickety energy and specific curiosity to get the house ready for winter, get caught up on paperwork, or contact politicians to get answers.

The weekend starts with a beautiful new Moon in Libra, bringing the illuminating Sun and Moon together inspiring a search for peace and connection, for beauty, a moment picking elderberries in the autumnal light. It also brings a deep and painful awareness of the world’s injustices and imbalances.

The Scorpio Moon on Sunday through Tuesday adds to that focus, and we need to focus wisely. Deal with logistical challenges from weather or life with care, but don’t waste too much energy grumbling. Look for more movement on Wednesday through Thursday as under the peripatetic Sagittarius Moon and as the Sun sextiles Jupiter, a search for positivity, for a break in stalemates, for new hope. Pluto turns direct later in the week, it’s been retrograde since spring, and this could expose the results of people brooding behind the scenes. Problems that have been hidden come out into the open, but at least once they’re out we can see and deal with them.

Friday, October 9: Notice both an impulse to make nice, make everyone happy, not rock the boat which competes with a desire to fiercely hold people accountable as old issues resurface and stick in our craw under this waning Moon in Libra. Small changes can help us redirect tension, but don’t try to shut someone down if they need to vent. Hearing their pain does not mean we can fix it, but we do need to hold space and hear them. Give people room to process their work week over dinner. Energy can be low and thoughtful as the Moon opposes Saturn tonight, so rest and reflect.

Moon enters Libra 2:10 AM MDT, Moon opposed Neptune 6:55 AM, Moon trine Pluto 7:44 AM, Moon trine Uranus 11:51 AM, Moon sextile Mars 2:25 PM, Moon opposed Saturn 9:53 PM.

Saturday, October 10: The Moon conjuncts the Sun at 9:49 AM MDT this morning, the new Moon in Libra offers an opportunity for a new cycle in relationships and in our search for social justice. Ask what is fair, what is beautiful, what brings balance into our world. The beautiful balance can be challenged by a bull-like stubbornness and an unconscious contrary nature as Venus and Mars square in fixed signs, unless we are intrigued by differences rather than irritated. Tonight softens as the Moon sextiles expansive Jupiter. Watch for stubborn arguments mid-afternoon but then feel a softening as that new Moon sextiles Jupiter.

Moon conjuncts the Sun 9:49 AM MDT, Venus squares Mars 3:30 pm, Moon sextile Jupiter 5:07 PM.

Sunday, October 11: On this broody day, deal with old stuff that comes up but don’t project it on others unless they truly earn it as the Moon enters Scorpio and squares Pluto. Look for a chance to heal control issues around food, nurturance, and children as the Sun squares Ceres; be generous without enabling. Early morning resentment, worry, or Introspection can transmute into deep connection with our muse and with one another as that Scorpio Moon conjuncts Venus tonight. A good story or movie, art or music can help us access our rest and resources.

Moon enters Scorpio 9:20 AM MDT, Moon square Pluto 3:08 PM, Sun square Ceres 10:01 PM, Moon conjunct Venus 10:26 PM.

Monday, October 12: Still waters run deep. We may be quiet, uninterested in in lightweight conversation or social chatter because we’re spelunking within our soul and need some quiet, our subconscious dramas can swirl underneath like ancient whales. Listen for this story at this depth but return to the surface to make any decision. Give the mind some useful conundrum to chew upon. Talk about real things or be quiet. Don’t take it personally if someone seems withdrawn; check in on them and offer a question to solve, a mystery to collaborate upon.

Moon square Mars 12:42 AM MDT, Moon conjunct Mercury 12:48 PM.

Tuesday, October 13: Look for stories of excess this morning as the Scorpio Moon squares Jupiter and the lunar nodes. Be wary of any extreme, to shut people down or embrace them to fully, to eat too much or too little, a desire to give up or dive in. Look for the middle way, the balance between opposites which creates safe progress. The Moon enters Sagittarius tonight and trines dreamy Neptune, giving us more room to talk, imagine, and find something funny that felt dire just this morning. Pay attention to incoming international news.

Moon square Jupiter 2:45 AM MDT, Moon enter Sagittarius 6:59 PM, Moon trine Neptune 11:54 PM.

Wednesday, October 14: After some potentially frustrating early morning adjustments as the Sagittarius Moon opposes shifting Uranus, take advantage of an opportunity to flow. Combine action with responsibility and good organization, engage an active if short attention span to unlock a logjam and get things done. Watch the pieces fit together. Do not short cut any needed bureaucratic red tape, but it may be easier to wrangle it now. A good day to build, literally or figuratively, as the Moon trines Mars and Saturn.

Moon sextile Pluto 101 AM MDT, Moon opposed Uranus 5:18 AM MDT, Moon trine Mars 1:50 PM, Moon trine Saturn 3:44 PM.

Thursday, October 15: A whiff of optimism can either make us lazy or loan us a positive attitude to find options we didn’t know we had as the Sun sextiles Jupiter under an active Sagittarius Moon trine Jupiter. Use those options to deal with some unpleasant revelations as Pluto turns direct and exposes hidden things. Underground pipes and nefarious plans, old resentments, and aging wires, all need to be exposed to be fixed.

Sun sextile Jupiter 2:21 AM MDT, Moon trine Jupiter 2:57 PM, Moon sextile Sun 3:55 PM, Pluto stations direct 844 PM.
