Starcodes for the week of July 3-9, 2026

There could be a revolution, confrontation, great or terrible rhetoric, accidents, or just some great fireworks this weekend. Sparks can fly as Mars conjuncts Uranus, an aspect that echoes the Mars-Uranus conjunction in Gemini which also occurred 250 years ago, two weeks before July 4, 1776. Along with this sparkler of an aspect, Mercury is retrograde and encourages us to slow down and be safe, notice potential glitches and deal with them directly.

Now Mars conjuncts Uranus every two years or so, it’s not that rare in aspect, but this is the first time it occurs in Gemini since a series in 1943-47. It’s an aspect that calls for the vitality of change, it reminds us that our living world is always in a state of flux, of evolution of compost and flowering, and compost again.

Uranus, the planet symbolizing electric, chaotic change, is now in Mercury-ruled Gemini, sign of the twins, where it invokes both brilliant innovation and the bifurcation of truth; partisan politics and its split between the twins, between perspectives, causes troubles. Uranus takes 84 years around the zodiac and was in Gemini during the American revolution, our Civil war, and World War 2. Robust and real dialogue, a potential gift from Gemini, can bring its healing.

With Mercury retrograde, this Mars-Uranus conjunction can lower impulse control and bring both mechanical malfunctions and the mechanical ingenuity needed to deal with it. Let’s think through the consequences of any sudden impulse to toss that firecracker, insult or inspire, or ask someone to “hold our beer and watch this”. Prioritize safety, and sanity, and joy.

Friday begins under a collaborative Aquarius Moon, Friday night may be the best night for fireworks. A sensitive, dreamy Pisces Moon over the weekend can make us sentimental and point to our vulnerability. Mars sextiles Neptune and trines Pluto, which can help us, if we want to, rise above partisan politics and dissolve old anger to be inspired where we have a collective vision. Or it can lead people to blame the other side for their sense of vulnerability and fear- and pry them apart. We always have choice.

Monday starts off with a bang, a busy week as the Sun squares Saturn and the Moon enters Aries. We may need to jump back into work with determination but still have to think things through. Short term goals work better than long term ones with Mercury retrograde, though the first can lead to the second. We might want to hurry up, but this is not a hurrying kind of time. All this week think it through, measure 3 times, and do it once rather than hurry and need to redo it over and over again.

The Moon enters Taurus on Wednesday, slows down that efforts and allows us to stabilize and drop back into the deliciousness of summer.

Friday, July 3: Although there may be differing views on how to feel or celebrate this July 4th weekend, tonight, consider joining a crowd, find a parade, see the fireworks together as the Moon in collective Aquarius opposes expressive and glorious Venus in Leo. Connect over shared visions and don’t get dragged into unnecessarily polarized arguments; it can be tempting, there will be bait, but we don’t have to go there. Enjoy a potentially wild night as Mars conjuncts Uranus but put safety and peacefulness first.

Moon opposed Venus 11:27 AM MDT.

Saturday, July 4: People could wake up either ready for a fight, or to kick back, relax, and have a good picnic as Mars conjuncts Uranus while the Moon enters sensitive Pisces. Spontaneity furthers, don’t insist on a schedule, what we will hate is being told what to do. Accidents are more likely in the morning; enthusiasm grows during the day but watch for alcohol-related problems tonight as mars sextiles Neptune. Share a vision, enjoy the fireworks and celebrate what we aspire to in our constitution. Prioritize safety with pyrotechnics and take care of sensitive people and animals tonight.

Mars conjuncts Uranus 12:07 AM MDT, Moon enters Pisces 12:29 AM Moon squares Uranus 7:59 AM, Moon squares Mars 8:25 AM, Mars sextiles Neptune 6:43 PM.

Sunday, July 5: We can make things happen as Mars trines Pluto and amps up our will power, but we must ask if they’re good, or just provocative, things. Let’s think carefully about our goals and whether this action takes us closer. Engage important discussions to repair the past and prepare for the future as the Moon trines Mercury tonight. Take a deep breath this evening, it’s going to be a busy week.

Moon trine Sun 2:01 AM MDT, Mars trine Pluto 7:06 AM, Moon trine Mercury 11:20 PM.

Monday, July 6: We may need to hit the ground running to this week as the Sun square Saturn and asks us to be grown-ups, to face some limitations squarely and take considered action. Feel empowered but be wise about asserting authority over others under a fiery Aries Moon which aspects and energizes Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Mars. Some stuck things begin to move, but let’s make sure we’re not running into a brick wall. Put this momentum to good use.

Sun squares Saturn at 4:46 AM MDT, the Moon enters Aries 9:06 AM, Moon trying Jupiter 11:40 AM, Moon sextile Uranus 4:25 PM, Moon conjunct Neptune 5:11 PM, Moon sextile Pluto 5:47 PM, Moon sextile Mars 7:48 PM.

Tuesday, July 7: Expect some uncertainty, possibly a sense of personal doubt, we can second guess our recent decisions as Neptune joins Mercury in Retrograde. Let the past be past, take from it lessons about what to do in the future, and leave any shame, resentment, or “should haves” alone. Instead of spinning in circles, let’s bring our focus down to the next practical step needed as the Aries Moon conjuncts Saturn. Delays may be fortuitous, if a delay shows up, look for something structural or foundational that needs to be repaired before proceeding.

Neptune retrogrades 4:54 AM MDT, Moon conjunct Saturn 11:14 AM MDT, Moon square Sun 1:28 PM EDT.

Wednesday, July 8: Morning can be upbeat and positive, or rash, most emotions positive but all of them run strong, even flammable, as the Aries Moon trines Venus. If we feel rushed, stop for a minute and ask if this push is an illusion, or is it necessary. Afternoon calms down as the Moon enters earthy Taurus and squares Jupiter; think deep, not fast, careful, rich, and competent. Find some peach ice cream and step back into the deliciousness of summer.

Moon square Mercury 3:24 AM MDT, Moon trine Venus 12:41 PM, Moon enters Taurus 2:30 PM, Moon square Jupiter 5:45 PM. Moon square Pluto 10:34 PM.

Thursday, July 9: Let’s let our ego rest- take a break from worry about other people’s opinions and instead value how we show up for others, and how others show up for us. The mood becomes less emotionally volatile and offers more opportunities to heal as Venus leaves Leo and enters Virgo, as long as we don’t focus on mistakes, instead focus on what is growing, healing, blossoming, what unfolds with love. Be open to healthy new connections tonight.

Venus enters Virgo 11:21 AM MDT, Moon sextiles Sun 8:46 PM.
