Starcodes for the week of October 30 – November 5, 2026
There’s something deeply satisfying when a holiday, like Halloween, happens on a weekend. Kids can safely celebrate on the actual day, and we can dive into that experience together, honor relatives and dance with the ghosts on Saturday, wake up to the spirits and the time change on Sunday.
This Halloween, celebrate Halloween safely, traditionally, under a family-oriented Cancer Moon in the daytime, then follow with a celebratory and potentially dramatic evening under Leo Moon. Wake up to bombastic political melodramas and a time change on Sunday.
Halloween is the Scorpio holiday which helps us reconcile with the turning of the wheel of the year, and the wheel of life, before we enter into the traditionally dark and dangerous winter. The veils are thin at this time of year, our intuition is strong and our imagination works overtime. The stars call us to make peace with our good ancestors, say goodbye to last year’s crops and the flowers fading in the frost, and to seed next spring’s rebirth. This is all good preparation for the looming Election Day, when we face the monsters running our world and get a chance to exorcise ghosts to embrace good spirits in solid form.
Scorpio encourages us to cut through any crap and get real or get quiet, Mercury and Venus are both retrograde in Scorpio and ask us to review the past year, remember who did what, and see through illusion. Notice the lines of misinformation, of hyperbole and outright lies, that always weave through politics but have been on outrageous display this year; this Scorpio energy can help us pierce through those illusions and bring consequences. Look for hidden dealings, Scorpio likes privacy and discretion but that can smoke screen backdoor dealings.
Throughout this week it will be important to continue all Mercury retrograde skills; check to make sure we heard what was actually said, fact check all rumors and stay situationally aware to stay safe.
Active Mars is now in expressive, hyperbolic Leo, it squares the Scorpio planets which leaves us ready to throw a party or throw out a party. Mars approaches a conjunction with Jupiter in mid- November just as Mercury and Venus turn direct, and this could bring a truly spicy time. Battles that begin now could escalate through mid-November, so choose battles carefully.
The weekend starts out with an introspective, self-protective vibe under the internal Cancer Moon. We can feel tension between our desire to stay home, safe and cozy, and a very public assertive, outgoing aggressive edge as the Scorpio Sun and Mercury trine the Cancer Moon in contrast to that Mars in Leo enthusiasm. On Halloween evening the Moon heads into expressive Leo which could bring out the best costumes. It may be easier to show our own Leonine side when we have on a costume to balance out privacy and extroversion. That’s true at the Halloween party and in our political candidates, only they might use their masks differently. On voting day itself, the Moon goes into more critically thinking Virgo and potentially brings more thoughtful action to the voters and voting process. Since Mercury is retrograde, keep eyes open for shenanigans and check those voting columns. The Moon enters Libra by the end of the week and can help us assess fairness in the election and return to our private relationships.

Friday, October 30: The mood can be both personal and self-protective, we long for safety and coziness and our defenses trigger quickly under this interior Cancer Moon. Mercury squares Mars which can trigger sharp comments, biting critique, political hyperbole, and accidents of inattention, so proceed and process carefully. We’ll tend to take our lives and our world seriously as the Moon squares Saturn midday. Things tend to lighten up tonight; conversation gets less spiky and more curious as the Moon approaches a trine to Mercury overnight. Enjoy Halloween traditions in familiar territory and honor memories.
Moon trine Sun 7:55 AM MDT, Mercury square Mars 11:19 AM, Moon square Saturn 11:35 AM.
Saturday, October 31: Let’s be kind to our bellies and be moderate with the sweets and give ourselves room for conflicting feelings on this Halloween. It can be easier to socialize once in costume if we feel both shy and hungry for adventure. Afternoon is conducive for honoring family and ancestors. Tonight, those ambiguous feelings tug on us, if we stay home, we might regret not going to the party, if we go out to the party, we might regret not staying home. Respect the ambiguity and find a way to timeshare between the two. The party mood is strongest late tonight as the Moon enters energizing Leo.
Moon trine Mercury 1:01 AM MDT, Moon square Venus 3:59 PM, Moon enters Leo at 10:17 PM.
Sunday, November 1: The veil was thin last night, spirits may have visited our dreams as the Moon trine Neptune and opposed Pluto, just as the time changed. Double check clocks and confirm schedules to avoid Mercury-retrograde snafus. People can feel a bit disorganized, stubborn, and have trouble getting out of their own perspective this afternoon. Political dramas multiply as the Leo Moon squares Mercury in Scorpio. People afraid of change could get anxious because we can feel it in the air. Some respond as stubborn, conflicted, but generally loving underneath if their ego is not on edge. Hold hands with dear ones and assume the stubbornness or anxious behavior is not personal.
Moon trine Neptune 1:50 am MDT, Moon opposed Pluto 2:38 AM MST, Moon sextile Uranus 5:15 AM, Moon trine Saturn 1:07 PM, Moon square Sun 1:28 PM, Moon square Mercury 11:25 PM.
Monday, November 2: While the mood is full of mood swings, expressive, but somewhat balancing out in our personal lives, expect a laughable level of bombast and drama in politics and world events, they can upstage any petty personal story. Everybody deserves to have their feelings respected at whatever level they operate upon. Turn some conflict into inspiration this morning and manage anxiety without believing its worst-case scenario as the Moon conjuncts Mars, be safe and pay attention to surroundings. Share some uplifting vision and compassionate action as the Moon conjuncts Jupiter and sextiles Venus in the afternoon.
Moon conjunct Mars 6:48 AM MST, Moon conjunct Jupiter 3:50 PM, Moon sextile Venus 5:10 PM.
Tuesday, November 3: The Moon enters Virgo and encourages precise critical thinking. People can be alert, cranky, persnickety, which is good for a voting day. Be specific – not paranoid – but suspicious, and stay involved. Morning can feel unsettled, laced with technical complications as the Moon squares Uranus. Midday brings seriousness, competence, and hope as the Moon sextiles the Sun and Venus approach a sextile to Jupiter. There can be love in our hearts and hope in our soul – and now let’s see if we can pull off this change in our practical world. Look for news close to midnight as the Moon sextiles Mercury.
Moon enters Virgo 1:27 AM MST, Moon square Uranus 9:35 AM, Moon sextile Sun 10:33 PM, Moon sextile mercury 11:57 PM.
Wednesday, November 4: Engage creativity, expand the heart, and turn up the volume on all feelings as Venus in its own heart-warming sign Libra sextiles Jupiter, with Mars nearby. Celebrate small victories as the Sun conjuncts Mercury. Follow up on both new and old connections, take an opportunity to nurture our more personal lives. Let’s not assume people know our feelings, instead express affection in relationships and in friendships without expectations, we all need warmth. We still have a lot of work to do, votes to count, clean up to help with, and we won’t clearly see the new terrain until the end of the month when Mercury is direct and the dust settles, but find what floats the heart in the meantime.
Venus sextile Jupiter 3:31 am MST, Sun conjunct Mercury 7:24 AM
Thursday November 5: Give people time to arrive this spacey morning as the Moon opposes Neptune, then facilitate next steps as the Moon trines Pluto and Uranus in the afternoon. On this somewhat disorienting day Libra Moon forms a grand trine with Pluto and Uranus and asks us to both tend our personal lives and also keep working towards the big global changes. Feel a potential wave of goodwill, whether celebrating or in bonding with like minds – only the election results will tell – as Venus opposes approaches in opposition to Chiron. Tend interpersonal snafus that got swept under the rug early this week. If people become disgruntled, listen carefully for real demonstrations but watch out for performative anger.
Moon enters Libra 7:38 AM MST, Moon opposed Neptune 11: 17 AM, Moon trine Pluto 1:28 PM, Moon trine Uranus 3:54 PM.
