Wolf Dream

She was learning about dreams
studying Jung
She told me
If you’re frightened of a bear
ask yourself what message the bear is bringing

The wolf’s charcoal body
bumped my right calf
as it trotted down a pine-bordered path
on a warm day in my subconscious

I didn’t need to ask
what the wolf’s message was
I was just happy for the visit
