Star Wisdom: Unwind

THE SUN AND Mercury in Leo bring us a well-deserved chance to unwind and focus on what feels good.

Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…You’ve got to keep working on your mommy and daddy issues because you don’t want to waste this rare chance to heal the past and finally feel at home in the world. But be aware, too, of the powerful and growing desire for true freedom of self-expression. If you can marry those two parts of yourself, you can really rock your world this month.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)…This is a great month to hire a publicist. If you can’t afford one, create one within your own psyche. And put her or him to work getting out the good word about just how hard you work, what a beautiful vision you have, and just how good you are at what you do. Don’t boast — just tell the truth.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)…Keep hammering on this money theme. How much do you really need to feel powerful, like you can realize the dream of your life? Be willing to look long and hard at the inner beliefs you inherited from mom or dad that keep stopping you from living a life of true abundance. It’s time to break that vicious cycle and live your life.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)…Even if things feel as intense this month as they have for the last couple years, something is different. You’re starting to realize that you have the power to change your life. These challenges aren’t here to break you down, they’re here to break you open — into the world, into your authentic self, into the life you long to live.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)…A major insight reveals that who you are is so much more than the personality you built all those years ago to protect you and allow you to function. Make a conscious choice to step into your essence. Experiment. Play. Don’t settle for staying stuck in a limited identity that stopped working for you a long time ago. Freedom calls — answer the phone!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)…“You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it,” said Dr. Wayne Dyer. Rather than running your mind through the same old loops, think magically. Keep a dream journal. Look for signs. Listen to the birds. Read tea leaves. The answers are there but, like an optical illusion, the pattern only emerges when you relax your focus.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)…Use the first half of the month to get clear on what you want. Because once Venus moves into your sign on the 16th, opportunity knocks. You may have to choose quickly and not everyone may be happy with your choices, but if they really care for you, they’ll get over it. It’s your life — don’t let anyone dissuade you from living it to the fullest.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)…A new conception of who you can be in the world is dawning this month, but you have to be willing to give up some old ideas about who you are supposed to be. It’s safe to say this requires as much courage as anything you will be asked to do in this life. Fortunately, courage is not something you lack.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)…If you owe it and you can’t pay it, make arrangements. If they owe you and you can’t get it out of them, find a way to make your peace with it. There’s plenty of money and plenty of energy in the world, and the world wants you to have your share. But it can’t make delivery to you when your energy is tied up in contracts from the past.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)…What do you need to see, feel or understand in order to truly love yourself? Find the places within you that you turn away or withdraw from: this is where your self-love got lost. A beautiful relationship is just waiting for you to learn to love yourself enough to believe you deserve it.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)…With a second straight full moon in your sign this month, you get a rare opportunity to see yourself from not just one, but several different vantage points. Look at this as the Universe’s way of saying, “See how cool you are? What would it take for you to truly accept and value your uniqueness?” Come out of exile and let us adore you!

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)…Find a creative guru this month. I choose William Blake, a craftsman and polymath who put his heart and soul into creating every day, whether he was working for pay or on his own unique vision. With Jupiter the Guru in your house of self-expression, this is the time for you to finally unchain your own creative genius. Call on a higher power to inspire you and work through you.
