Why Energy Healing?

333

meditate_woman_waterI AM A LIFE COACH and counselor. For more than thirty years, I have been using energy healing modalities to assist people with their mental, emotional and spiritual healing and growth. I use these kinds of approaches with clients — and also for myself — because I have found they work, reliably and well. If they didn’t work, I wouldn’t be using them.

Many years ago, when I was dealing with major personal issues that were threatening to submerge me, I tried a succession of “talk” therapists. I found it was comforting to talk with sympathetic people about my experiences, and I got a lot off my chest, but I wasn’t really feeling any better. Although I had gained more insight, I was still unhappy, resentful and angry, stuck in my old emotional patterns and past traumas.

In desperation, I turned to alternative approaches; homeopathy and flower essences were the first alternative modalities I was exposed to, and they worked well for me. Later, I discovered the efficacy of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) healing techniques for myself. Over the years since then, I’ve experienced many other modalities, studied a number of them intensively, and incorporated those into my client practice. My primary modalities now are Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT)®, Dynamind, and flower essences. I also use my own presence, attention and intention to create a healing field. Hundreds of people who have worked with me as clients can attest to the efficacy of these approaches.

But why do energy healing modalities work, when “talk therapy” often doesn’t do enough?

Well, where do emotional blockages live? Although we may be somewhat aware of those blockages consciously, they don’t really live in our conscious minds — if they did, we could clear them all with simple logic. Most of us have learned it’s not that simple, and that’s because, in fact, those old traumas and blockages live in a deeper level of ourselves. We may call that level the subconscious mind, although it also includes the physical body. In fact, neuroscientist Candace Pert, author of Molecules of Emotion, says, “Your body is your subconscious mind.”

But where is your subconscious mind? It’s not really in your body (at least no anatomist has ever found it); it’s in your energy field. Where do your emotions live? In your energy field. So where can they be changed? In your energy field — with focused intention and energy-healing techniques. Maybe you don’t know you have an energy field, but it’s a very important part of our make-up. Once you start using these approaches, you will know from your own experience that it exists, and that profound shifts can take place when you access it.

There are whole systems of energy medicine that can be very effective for physical, emotional and even spiritual healing. These include Chinese medicine/acupuncture, homeopathy, flower essences, and others. Yoga, Qi Gong, and T’ai Chi (and just breathing and moving) also help to move the energy in healing and useful ways. In addition, there is a growing new field of very effective new techniques for emotional/mental healing; these “energy psychology” techniques include Tapas Acupressure Technique – TAT®, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Dynamind (from the Hawaiian wisdom tradition), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and many others. The proof is in the pudding: When people’s lives get better, and they feel happier and more confident, you know something fundamental has shifted.

Every day, using these kinds of techniques, I witness people’s energy blockages dissolving smoothly and easily. It still feels miraculous to watch clients move forward with their lives as they release old beliefs and stuck emotional patterns.

When energy is flowing easily, life is flowing easily!
