Food First: Orange smooths out Everything

One of my favorite strategies for health and wellness is to “add in” nutrient dense foods in the form of a daily smoothie! I’m a big fan of green smoothies, but every now and again I love to experiment with other colors, like a bright red beet smoothie or a fun deep blue, blueberry smoothie. It’s good to include all the colors of the rainbow because they each carry a vibrational energy that helps us open up, balance and heal our various chakras.

Orange is the color that corresponds with the sacral chakra, and I created this orange smoothie for that purpose. I also love this one because it has ginger and turmeric, which are phenomenal natural anti-inflammatory foods, great for any aches and pains, with an added touch of cinnamon for blood sugar balance and stability. The coconut is excellent for hormonal balance, thyroid and brain health!

Together this concoction tastes a bit like pumpkin pie, while still hanging on to the tropical mango flavor of late summer. For more information on the energies associated with various foods and chakras, visit my app called “A Spiritual Guide” in the app store.

Spice of Life Smoothie
1 cup mango chunks (frozen)
2 carrots (chopped enough to blend)
1 scoop of your favorite plant-based protein powder
1 cup coconut milk
1 tsp coconut oil
1″ fresh ginger (or 1/2 tsp powdered)
1″ fresh turmeric (or 1/2 tsp powdered)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Place all ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
